Job Description

AECOM's Environmental team in Alberta is seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Environmental Project Coordinator for work on the large-scale remediation projects. This position will primarily support acting project managers as a project coordinator on large multidisciplinary, environmental projects in environmental site investigation, remediation, and reclamation. This is a Full-time role.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Assist the Project Manager:

  • Attend weekly project calls, as needed.
  • Support preparation of internal updates to AECOM and Client.
  • Support monthly invoicing by gathering and tracking expense backup from field staff.
  • Support monthly invoicing by tracking field tickets submissions by subcontractors.
  • Preparation of documentation for design projects: technical letters, memorandums, and reports, drawing packages, and detailed design packages.
  • Quality coordination
  • Assistance in maintaining the project schedule for project execution tasks.
  • Support in coordination of planning for all field programs.
  • Ensuring all field data has been uploaded by the Site Supervisor and subcontractors daily.
  • Maintain various trackers as needed.

Coordination of subcontractors

  • Coordinate with subcontractors to conduct project work (scheduling, filing on subcontractor documentation).
  • Coordinate with Procurement to obtain Purchase orders (PO), liaison with subcontractors to obtain signed purchase orders (POs).
  • Assist project manager in maintain tracking of subcontractor POs.

Additionally, there are opportunities for candidates who would like to continue to build their technical background to have access to training and careers opportunities if of interest.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A Bachelors degree in the relavent field with 2+ years of project coordination experience or,
    • High school diploma equivalency, graduation from an environmental or safety training program with 4 years of experience.

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Technical writing and preparing technical documents, such as reports.
    • Experience with coordination: Provided support to on multi-disciplinary projects to coordinate project deliverables.
    • Awareness of Safety and logistics coordination for field programs.
    • Quality management: demonstrated ability to follow internal processes and help projects be compliant.
    • Personal Attributes: Highly developed written communication, time management and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
    • A high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
