The GIS Analyst will play a vital role in the Digital Transformation organization.  In this role, you will grow with the EPE GIS team and collaborate with a cross-disciplinary audience.  Additionally, you will analyze data sets, gain an understanding of the electric utility industry, and boost your geographic information systems mapping skills

 

How you can make an impact:

 

  • Produce data layers, maps, tables, or reports, using Esri Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
  • Work with large datasets, including importing delimited or fixed field data files into database and GIS software, and data clean-up of different data sources of differing file types.
  • Develop and manage scripts for data analysis and systems integration; including but not limited to joining data from outside sources to existing spatial data.
  • Prepare maps and google earth files for clients using ESRI product software, including templates and forms in GIS platform and Excel.
  • Prepare various reports as part of deliverables to Clients including but not limited to:
    • Excel, Access, and PowerPoint presentations
    • Charts, diagrams, and story maps
  • Maintain knowledge of in-house and regional spatial data resources; and stay abreast of GIS software trends and best practices in spatial data management.
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control procedures on delivered data; focused on but not limited to the below:
    • Consistent and accurate spatial data.
    • Perform basic data maintenance to correct data issues.
    • Provide recommendation for necessary improvements.
  • Develop and maintain database in ESRI’s Utility Network Model; including but not limited to:
    • Preparing data for geocoding and completing geocoding projects.
    • Creating and explaining new data products created by spatial analysis.
  • Track and manage projects and take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.

 

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here what’s needed:

 

  • Bachelor's degree program from an accredited university with major coursework in geography, spatial analytics, geographic information systems, computer science, management information systems, including GIS coursework, or related degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant GIS activities involving professional-level expertise in the design, development, implementation, and administration of GIS, including analysis, database development, and integration.
  • Must have Proficiency with the Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Utility Network Model, and their associated APIs or interfaces.
  • Prior experience utilizing GIS software in the utility or infrastructure industry preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online platform and associated products such as Web App Builder, Story Maps, Collector, and Survey 123 is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FME or ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension to ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience with Python for the purposes of monitoring, generating reporting statistics, administration, and management of the ArcGIS Enterprise Platform.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred. Knowledge of converting GIS-based data to AutoCAD or other design platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including but not limited Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Direct experience working with an electric utility is preferred.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities and growing consulting offerings.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change.
