**Job Description**

**AECOM** is seeking a Geologist Intern to be based in our Austin, TX office.

_This position is expected to begin in early May 2023._

**Job Overview:**

The Geologist Intern III will support our Remediation team both in the field and office. We are seeking a motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in an environmental remediation career. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and have good interpersonal communication skills.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

+ Supports investigation and remediation projects for various clients.

+ Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations, monitoring and assessments.

+ Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.

+ Assist with post-field data entry and report writing.

+ Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

+ Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

+ Intern III – completion of 3rd year of qualified study (anticipated completion of 3rd year of qualified study in 2022).

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or another related field

+ Must have completed 3 years of study in relevant degree program

+ Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

+ Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Ability to travel up to 75% to various job sites in and near Michigan.

+ Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.

+ Support project staff with carrying out fieldwork (water, soil and/or air sampling) is considered an asset.

+ Strong writing abilities.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and CADD).

**Additional Information**

+ Travel is required for this position.

+ Candidates will be asked to submit to a MVR (motor vehicle record) screening and/or medical surveillance screening at the time of hire.
