Our client is an international consumer goods company. Our client is seeking a Part – Time Lab Technician to join the company in its Product Development laboratory. Salary/Hourly Rate: $15/hr – 18/hr Depending on experience Position Overview: This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join a collaborative team testing personal care products under cGMP/GLP regulations. This is Part – Time Lab Technician position is a part-time, dayshift role making it a perfect opportunity for students to gain industry experience with both chemistry and biology lab techniques Responsibilities of the Part – Time Lab Technician: Making the various batches and test the formulation and stability of those batches Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out measurements Operating standard laboratory equipment, i.e., centrifuges, microscope, pH meters, rheometers, etc. Performing routine tests on products such as measuring pH, specific gravity, viscosity, as well as sensory testing of color, odor, appearance and texture Performing some biology experiments such as ELISA, PCR and microbial growth plating in addition to wet chemistry testing Keeping track of comprehensive and accurate test results Working upon multiple development topics and projects as required Using formulation experience and scientific literature to develop, justify, and/or investigate formulation, processing techniques, and quality control protocols Qualifications for the Part – Time Lab Technician: Must be comfortable working within an R&D laboratory setting and knowledgeable about the requirements of operating & maintaining an R&D laboratory Must have hands-on experience with laboratory instruments Self-starter who can be effective with minimal supervision Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the company Writing skills consistent with the ability to prepare concise, timely, and accurate reports Must be able to work either full days OR half days during the work week (Monday to Friday). Roughly 20 – 30 hours a week depending on the student’s class schedule Education Requirements: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a relevant science such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology or Biochemistry Must have completed General Chemistry and General Biology. Other courses that would be helpful are Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumentation Analysis, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry Benefits: Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility As a woman-owned firm, we value diversity.
