Quality Control Inspector II
Job Description
QC Inspector to work side by side with personnel in operations district to document and check equipment and rental tools being assembled for customer shipments. Measures dimensions of product to print tolerance. Ability to pass dimensional inspection training and testing. Certifies all measuring instruments prior to use in inspection. Performs process inspections and validates serialization. Uses performs inspections with profile gages as well as standard hand tools such as calipers and height gages. Can read, interpret, and understand blueprints. Perform visual inspections on components. Requires current or previous certifications on NDEs such as LP and MT. Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents. Review inspection records received for compliance. Maintain inspection and measuring equipment within calibration. Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) for nonconforming parts. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. Minimum 3 years of inspection experience is required. Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, material specifications, and requirements. Possess knowledge of precision measuring equipment. Knowledge of API, ISO, and ASME requirements is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn different software programs. Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, as required. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Comply with all Dril-Quip and HSE policies and procedures. Perform quality control checks such as dimensional and physical checks to ensure products and rental tools meet DQ and Customer requirements for quality prior to stab and shipment to rigsite. This position is required to match the schedule of the operations district, which often requires after hours and weekend shifts to meet customer needs.
