As our R&D Scientist you will innovate, scale up, and commercialize existing and new cost-effective quality technology by contributing technical expertise to the corporate planning process, quickly responding to market opportunities, and defending the corporation against competitive threats. This position plays a key role within R&Ds technical ladder. This role requires strong levels of project, people, and organizational leadership capabilities, as well as strong technical knowledge and experience. Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques. Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed. Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods. Conduct quality control tests. Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials. Formulate or optimize any coating product in a known technology to meet defined requirements. Design and conduct feasibility and cost savings studies independently. Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions. Confer with scientists and engineers to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests. Responsibilities/Expectations: BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, or other equivalent scientific field required. MS or PhD strongly preferred. Outstanding technical and interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Managing high stakes and challenging situation with all levels of organizations. Ability to respond to emerging business needs – strong management of change skills.
