**This Opportunity**
WSP is currently initiating a search for an experienced and motivated **Senior Geologist/Engineering Geologist** to our **Redmond, WA** office. The following locations will also be considered: Seattle, WA. The candidate would be involved in projects with our Ground Engineering and Materials, Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
The qualified candidate shall have broad skills in the field of applied geology and engineering geology, be registered as a Geologist and/or Engineering Geologist or capable of obtaining their license in the State of Washington. The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering consulting. A strong background in engineering geology and experience in planning and executing field exploration programs, writing proposals and reports, and managing client and project deliverables is highly desirable. The position requires effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated team leadership skills, a positive attitude, good business acumen and strong task management skills.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who would enjoy joining a team of 25 geologists and geophysicists who are focused on client needs in the geosciences. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team, setting goals, and working with senior colleagues to provide mentoring and growth opportunities to our junior staff. We are looking for someone who is client focused, delivers quality consulting services, and works to grow the client and project opportunities for the Geoscience Team and the office.
**Your Impact**
+ Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by providing technical expertise, being responsive and providing quality and cost targeted consulting services
+ Plan and manage simple and complex subsurface field geologic exploration programs including drilling and test pit explorations
+ Provide final interpretation of core, televiewer, and hole alignment data
+ Provide interpretation of subsurface conditions and develop conceptual geologic models
+ Review geologic samples and assign geologic unit identification, assign laboratory testing, and supervise the preparation of exploration records
+ Supervise and manage geologists to perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards
+ Proficiency and familiarity with rock mass characterization and all rock and soil logging processes
+ Provide direction on the installation of monitoring wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP’s, inclinometers, transducers etc.)
+ Conduct geological research, write, and review project proposals
+ Interpret geological data and write and review geotechnical and geologic reports
+ Provides technical direction and oversight as well as mentoring and training to junior-level WSP staff.
+ Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work.
+ Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s
+ Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering or Engineering Geology required
+ Minimum 5 years of job-related experience
+ Experience managing simple to complex subsurface investigations including drilling, soil classification, monitoring well installation and instrumentation
+ Must have valid LG or LEG in Washington state or ability to obtain it
+ Candidates must be willing to work in the field conducting physically rigorous field geologic data collection in a variety of terrain and weather conditions
+ Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Must have excellent communication and writing skills, with demonstrated report writing skills.
+ Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
+ Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
+ Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
+ Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most cost-effective responses that will minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve resources.
+ Effective at coordinating and assertively directing others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree is preferred.
+ 8+ years of job-related experience
+ Existing strong client relationships in the relative sectors
+ Track record of successful and strong business development activities
+ Experience with management of mid to large-size, multi-disciplinary projects
+ Specialized computer skills including database applications, AutoCAD, 3D modeling, GIS, Openground and/or gINT.
Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $69,600 – $139,300
WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
