**This Opportunity**

WSP’s Earth & Environment Group is currently searching for a Senior Geologist/Environmental Scientist to join our Austin, Texas office. In this role you will manage environmental projects, develop proposals, coordinate field investigations and subcontractors, and prepare technical reports for submission to regulatory agencies. Performing work safely is our highest priority, and you will work in accordance with WSP’s health, safety, environment, and wellness program.

**Your Impact**

+ Manage and assist with environmental site assessments (Phase I and II).

+ Manage and coordinate site investigations, subsurface boring and trenching activities, site remediation projects, and groundwater monitoring activities.

+ Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.

+ Prepare draft client invoices, perform project financial reviews, and review subcontractor invoices.

+ Organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents.

+ Coordinate with contractors (e.g., drillers and analytical laboratories) to support project-specific objectives.

+ Assist with development and scoping of moderate to complex projects.

+ Review project information from WSP staff and subcontractors to ensure it includes complete, accurate, and concise documentation.

+ Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

+ Comply with safety guidelines.

+ Prepare, review, and implement site Project Safety Plans (PSPs).

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Who You Are**

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related science field.

+ 5 to 10 years experience in environmental consulting or a related field.

+ OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

+ Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM guidelines and industry standards.

+ Experience with technical report preparation for submission to regulatory agencies (e.g., TCEQ and USEPA).

+ Ability to direct others such as junior staff and contractors to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

+ Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.

+ Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workday or workweek.

+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Texas professional geoscientist certification.

+ Master’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science.

+ A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
