Consultant - Data Management (Associate Level)

ERM is currently looking for a professional and dedicated Environmental Data Management Consultant to join our successful team in order to provide environmental analysis and assessment across a range of UK and international projects; undertaking work in order to achieve positive outcomes for ERM’s clients.


  • To assist the team with a focus on data collection, management, manipulation, analysis and visualisation.

  • To be responsible for delivering quality projects and growing existing clients, participating in innovation initiatives.

  • To provide advice and support to clients in determining optimal approaches to achieve their business and sustainability objectives, using knowledge of tools such as GIS, Power BI  software, etc.

  • To contribute effectively to projects by undertaking research and analysis of spatial data, together with data visualisation in accordance with the brief and budget to ensure project specifications are met.

  • To manage small projects or components of larger projects in accordance with the requirements of ERM’s project management system.

  • To prepare or assist in the preparation of project proposals, marketing and presentation materials to produce high quality proposals.

Key Competencies:

  • A BSc Degree or Master’s Degree in a data management related subject or where it has been the component of an environmentally relevant degree is preferable for this role.

Essential skills:

  • Effective relationship building skills, with strong collaborative working skills and effective interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation abilities and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly numerate, with strong data management skills

Desirable skills:

  • Experience within a consultancy setting and project management experience in an internal consulting or strategic role

  • Previous experience supporting multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Familiarity with databases (SQL), R Coding and dashboards (Power BI) would be desirable.

  • UX / UI experience
