Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking to add an Entry Level Geologist to our New York office.  Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors.  We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories. Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.Performing routine fieldwork working under close supervision from project managers. Field work may include soil, sediment, surface water, and/or groundwater sampling; operation and maintenance of remedial systems; and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management.Participating in site visits and coordinating and assisting field staff as required.Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.Develop knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced scientist/engineer.Preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Geology.Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience using MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; samples of work will be requested.This position requires extensive field work, the willingness and ability to work at active sites in possible inclement weather conditions, walking, standing, kneeling on uneven terrain and carrying equipment that may weigh up to 30 pounds.OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.Additional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this position.Travel is required for this position.  This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York, NY.  The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
