Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively growing the East Region Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) practice and is seeking an Environmental Project Manager within the Mid-Atlantic EPP Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for team management and have experience overseeing environmental permitting and utility siting projects for energy and other private sector clients. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM EPP specialists across the US.For this opportunity, we will consider candidates in any of our Mid-Atlantic Regional offices including, but not limited to, the following: Arlington, VA; Glen Allen, VA; Norfolk, VA; Baltimore, MD; Germantown, MD; Cincinnati, OH. This is a hybrid work model with some remote and some office presence may be required.The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to:Develop, manage, and administer all staff and projects carried out by those directly reporting to this positionManage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, learning and applying AECOM’s project management systems and softwareThe candidate will accelerate through AECOM’s in-house Project Management certification program within the first year of employmentServe as a mentor to junior and mid-level staffPerform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and overnight travelCoordinate, manage, and direct project field and data collection effortsDevelop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverablesServe as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiativesProactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Heath & Safety within the teamProvide technical support to the EPP Department and individual Project Managers, and support inter-disciplinary business development activitiesCollaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business linesQualificationsMinimum Required:BA/BS degree plus 8 years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of education and experienceExperience must include 8 years of experience managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budgetExperience with CWA, ESA, NHPA, NEPA, and other federal, state, and local regulationsExperience with FERC requirements and related experience with preparing FERC Section 7(c) resource reports and pre-filing process, environmental permitting, NEPA, relevant environmental regulations and processes, and related environmental considerations desiredDue to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is requiredValid driver's license, and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records reviewPreferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural resources, Wetlands management, or an earth science-related field is preferredMaster’s degree in relevant field is favored10+ years industry experience, preferably with energy and other private sector clients providing environmental assessment and permitting compliance support, including FERC requirementsPMP or other project management certification is a plus; candidate will be required to complete AECOM Project Management CertificationDemonstrated ability to market and win work successfully and effectively Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiationsExperience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project deliveryExperience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change ordersPrevious experience leading teams of professionals in executing wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species studies, environmental permitting support, and other related studies/assessments/analysesDemonstrated experience managing projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with ClientsDemonstrated organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work Additional InformationAdditional InformationWilling and able to travel as requested/required, with some overnight staysHybrid work model with some office presence Sponsorship is not available for this roleRelocation is not available for this roleAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelinesOffered rate of compensation in (Maryland, Ohio and Virginia locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
