Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Environmental Remediation Construction Foreman on projects and lead small to medium sized teams of equipment operators, laborers, electricians, and pipe fitters, and be responsible for work execution and safety. The work will focus on remediation projects for multiple AECOM project managers, subject matter experts, and disciplines. This is a full-time position at the former McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California, reporting to AECOM’s Field Services Manager. Travel may be required for up to 50% of the time to projects within California and the western U.S.The AECOM Environmental Remediation Construction Superintendent is responsible for supervision of environmental remediation construction. The position involves on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects. The Environmental Remediation Construction Superintendent interacts with AECOM managers, to understand the project objectives and report on issues, progress, and completion, and federal, state, and private clients to develop relationships that promote AECOM as the premier environmental remediation company.This position requires application of advanced concepts, industry knowledge, and understanding the technical capabilities of the Environmental Remediation Construction team members. The Environmental Remediation Construction Superintendent is expected to work independently after receiving guidance regarding overall project objectives. The individual will analyze complex issues and recommend solutions that may lead to an improved outcome; the successful candidate will use their judgement to make decisions that may be outside of defined parameters and precedents.Responsibilities of this position include the following:Organize and direct construction and construction related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may encompass multiple disciplines within the construction project.Assist with planning and coordination of subcontractors and monitor their work and safety performance.Review manpower, material, and equipment requirements that are required by the Project or Field Services Manager.Serve as the primary on-site contact for all jobsite daily activities and coordinate with the client’s representatives on those activities within assigned area of operations.Ensure assigned jobsite operations comply with design/specifications, and complete jobs on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.Ensure safety standards and requirements are adhered to by crafts/trades, laborers, and others, as well as ensure tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Prepare reports, as required, and keep project managers and Field Services Manager informed on progress of overall assigned activities.Interface with all other administrative field staff, field management staff, and the project manager in a coordinated effort.Participate in environmental remediation construction activities to maximize team efficiency and contribute to project completion.Collaborate with project teams and management in the development of strategies and plans.Work independently but receive basic guidance from the Field Services Manager and Project Managers on project assignments, objectives, complex features, and financial considerations.Receive technical guidance from Project Engineers on unusual or complex problems.QualificationsMinimum Requirements and/or Experience:BA/BS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationEnvironmental remediation construction experience, including heavy equipment operation.Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.Preferred Qualifications:Current HAZWOPER and 8-hour Supervisor certifications.Additional safety certifications and training (i.e., Safety-Trained Supervisor for Construction Credential (STS-C), USACE EM 385-1-1 certification, etc.).Additional InformationAECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
