Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN Remediation team. We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects.This position will support Project Managers in planning, project or task management and supervision of complex field tasks, including environmental site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, remediation system installation and operations and maintenance, and related work. The candidate will also provide office support for project management, regulatory compliance, data management and technical evaluation, and report preparation for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental investigation and remediation projects.The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the environmental investigation/remediation consulting industry, including field data collection, drilling oversite, remedial excavation oversight, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection, and experience in remediation systems operations, maintenance, and monitoring.  In addition, the candidate will have some experience in data management and technical report production.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role.Responsibilities for this position may include the following:Field-based task management and field lead for environmental field work, including remedial excavations, remediation systems operations, maintenance, and monitoring, soil logging, groundwater, soil, soil vapor, air, and sediment sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.Execute fieldwork by directing and overseeing individual or multiple contractors (laboratory, drillers, surveyors, excavation contractors).Liaison with clients/client representatives, site facilities, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.Health and safety planning and hazard recognition.Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, regulatory case managers, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike.Data management, evaluation and report writing including drafting environmental investigation work plans and reports.Preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation.Preparation of proposals and costs estimates for new opportunities.Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.This position requires both office and field work; the successful candidate should expect up to 30% travel overseeing field work and mentoring junior staff.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsB.S. in the Geology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.Minimum 2+ years of experience in environmental remediation consulting industry (private or public).Valid driver's license, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.US Citizen/Permanent Resident.Preferred Qualifications4+ years of experience in environmental consulting.OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.Experience working on environmental remediation projects including field sampling, data analysis, report writing, task management, cost estimate and proposal development, project implementation and execution.Experience communicating and coordinating field work with staff, subcontractors and vendors.Strong technical report writing skills.Strong quality and time management.Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.Interest in performing various business development activities.Additional InformationAECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
