Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist III to be based in our Charlotte, NC office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately.In this role, the selected applicant will be responsible for working on investigation and remediation projects while managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement/communication, and financial management.The selected candidate will also assist project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet client needs on schedule and within budget.Utilize various techniques to generate data from remedial or investigative field work. Field work includes but is not limited soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), operations and maintenance of remedial systems, etc.Record and manage data in EQuIS (or similar) databaseProficient use of GIS, CAD, or similar to generate geologic cross-sections, potentiometric maps, or other figures.Work independently or with minimal direction to prepare draft technical documents.QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review\Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:5+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that included soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), analytical data interpretation and reporting.Understanding of site assessment and remediationOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.Proficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)Experience with Brownfields projects, mining projects, and/or PFAS investigationsFluency with CAD or GISProject management experienceExperience with various remediation technologies; vapor mitigation systems, AS/SVE systems, pump and treat systems, chemical injections, soil blends, thermal remediation, bio-sparge, etc.Experience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing environmentsCurrent OSHA 30-Hr Constriction TrainingCurrent Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Part 48Current Remote Pilot Certificate, Part 107Current Professional Licensure, certifications, and/or accreditationsFamiliarity with State (i.e., NCDEQ, SCDHEC, etc.) and Federal Environmental RegulationsAdditional InformationSponsorship is not available for this position.Relocation is not available for this position.Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NC only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
