Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Environmental Technician II for employment with our Remediation team in the Mechanicsburg PA office. The candidate will conduct soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects in accordance with Comprehensive Environmental Response, compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, various NCDEQ Division of Waste Management Programs and other regulatory programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for the completion of complex field tasks, including site investigations, soil and groundwater sample collection, remedial system operations and maintenance, and related work. This is an entry level position for an environmental field technician with experience in soil and groundwater sampling. AECOM provides coaching and training for our employees to succeed in their current role and learn to expand their capabilities. The Remediation Business is growing and the need for an individual of this skill set is required.The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:Performing different groundwater and soil methodsRecord/data keeping and general O&M of environmental remediation systems.  Assist with compliance with strict safety guidelines and the ability to work as part of a team with daily direction from project management. Provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintenance of the required AECOM-related documentation and forms.This position will involve some travel, but long-term assignments are not a routine aspect of this position.QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:HS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screeningDue to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or other related sciences3+ years of experience in environmental sampling techniques including groundwater and soil sampling and air and vapor sampling.Good communicator, self-motivated, good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, and competent use of safe-work behaviorsMust be able to write and convey thoughts; organize data in an efficient and clear manner; have excellent attention to detail; effectively multi-task; and desire to contribute to a dynamic team.Mechanical and hands-on skills to work on/maintain various remediation systems.Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, maintaining project continuity, progress, and project profitability.Ability to work independently with diverse staff in office and non-office setting (i.e., outdoors, undeveloped/wooded areas, year-round, overnight travel necessary).Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, are desirable. OSHA 40 training with current 8hr. OSHA Supervisors training.Additional InformationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship is not available for this positionOffered rate of compensation (PA locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
