Join us.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Analyst (2+ yrs Exp.) to join our team in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing geographic data, creating maps, and providing spatial solutions to support various projects and initiatives within the organization. The GIS Analyst will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct spatial analysis, and produce high-quality deliverables.Responsibilities:Utilize GIS software and tools to analyze geographic data and create maps for various projectsInterpret and integrate data from multiple sources, including satellite imagery, aerial photographs, GPS data, and demographic informationPerform spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the dataDevelop and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracyCollaborate with project teams to understand requirements and provide GIS support throughout the project lifecycleGenerate reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendationsStay current with advancements in GIS technology and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows and processesProvide training and support to staff members on GIS software and tools.Assist with data collection and fieldwork as neededAdhere to project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of tasksQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Science, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Geography, GIS, or related fieldProficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platformsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data setsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentKnowledge of spatial analysis techniques, including buffering, overlay analysis, and spatial statisticsExperience working with geospatial databases and data management best practicesFamiliarity with GPS technology and data collection methodsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectivelyAttention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workExperience with remote sensing techniques and image analysisProgramming skills in Python, R, or other scripting languagesKnowledge of web mapping technologies such as ArcGIS Online or LeafletCertification in GIS or related field (e.g., Esri Technical Certification)Additional InformationSponsorship is not offered for this position.Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
