GIS Analyst Co-op 

Work term: Summer (June 2024) 

Work term length: 4-month

What you’ll be doing: –

  • Creating GIS-Centric solutions to business problems 
  • Creating maps and other analytical products 
  • Writing SQL & Python Code to conduct GIS Analysis 
  • Create, develop, and implement non-existent systems and databases for geospatial data in various formats. 
  • Communicating GIS Analysis to key business stakeholders both in written and oral formats 
  • Responding to Ad-hoc requests from various business units 


What you bring: – 

  • Currently pursuing a university or College Degree in Geographic Analysis, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field. 
  • Passion to learn new technologies and skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Experience using desktop GIS Software: CARTO, QGIS, ESRI Arcgis PRO, ESRI Arcmap, Mapinfo, etc 
  • Experience creating PowerPoint Decks and writing documentation. 
  • Knowledge of Python (Pandas, Geopandas, etc) 
  • Knowledge of SQL (Standard Query Language)
