Internship - Geology (Retain Testing)
Project Avatar will provide valuable KT testing data, allowing the long term and short term mine planners to model the translation of hydrous reserves and resources to KT reserves and resources, where applicable. In the past, properties were tested according to the receiving plant. For example, properties mined for the hydrous plant only received hydrous testing. Since the divestiture of the hydrous plant, several properties with only hydrous testing remained with Imerys. Some of the properties have passed the prerequisite analysis (grit, TiO2, Fe2O3, etc.) and show promise for translation from hydrous to KT reserves and resources. Without the KT testing, we will not be able to recategorize the hydrous tons to KT tons, leaving a large amount of tons on the books to be financially written off in the future.
