ERM is seeking a hands-on Principal Technical Consultant, Engineer to support and grow the domestic Capital Projects Delivery for Renewable Energy. This position will focus on utilizing your industry connections, building on our client relationships, and supporting the design and optimization of renewable energy projects. Experience will include development and permitting of solar, onshore wind, energy storage, transmission, and hydroelectric projects. Projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. This position will require the candidate to demonstrate motivation and focus to exceed client needs. The candidate must be adept at managing varying priorities while working on concurrent projects.

  • Drive repeat business and develop new business opportunities by maintaining superior work quality demonstrated by client satisfaction.
  • Manage multiple large, fast-paced, and complex projects on time and on budget including elements such as scope and delivery requirements, KPIs, budgeting, resourcing, planning, coordinating field and other technical work, and managing health, safety, and risk aspects.
  • Actively participate in thought leadership events, power industry working groups, and be attentive to market conditions and energy trends. 

  

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related natural resources science field of study.
  • Equivalent of 8-10 years of experience in either a consulting environment, working substantially with solar power engineering and design development, from siting, permitting, construction, project management
  • Robust technical expertise and an established reputation in their respective marketplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply initiative, critical thinking, and creativity in work performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite software. Familiarity with geospatial, design and modeling tools like GIS, AutoCAD, PVSYST, relating to siting and renewable energy modeling.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable with scheduling and project-necessary follow up.
  • Ability to work both independently, as a collaborative member of a project team, and proficient in leading a geographically diverse team.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills, which includes being comfortable and skilled at conveying complex technical knowledge and concepts to other staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Has curiosity, tenacity and drive to solve problems: to ask the ‘why’ and start the ‘how’

For the Principal Technical Consultant, Engineer (Senior Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $117,633 – $140,653.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.  This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
