We have a fantastic opportunity within our Mining/Water Services teams, based in Dublin, for Consultants to join us and play an active and integral role in managing, leading and support the teams’ fieldwork and client projects.
Due to an exciting level of upcoming projects in Mining, Oil and Gas and Infrastructure, we need individuals with between 3 and ten years’ experience, who will see this as an excellent career opportunity to continue to develop their skills and independence within field work at a leading global consultancy. The successful candidates would undertake a range of duties including but not limited to the following:
Undertake Water Risk Assessment work including Catchment based models.
Develop skills in Environmental Impact Assessment.
Develop skills in Controlled waters quantitative risk assessment (QRA).
Develop understanding of relevant British Standards, industry guidance documents and legislation.
Assist in fee proposal preparation for future work.
Supervision of contractors and undertaking routine monitoring during site investigations.
Regular field work (walkovers, logging soils, soil and groundwater sampling, supervising and managing contractors on site).
Office support (data manipulation and presentation, reporting, etc.).
Produce environmental desk study, site investigation and verification reports by undertaking both office and site based work.
Training will be provided to develop the skills to manage small then medium sized projects, to include financial management.
We are looking for individuals with:
Qualified to degree level with a BSc and MSc in a combination of hydrogeology with geology or geochemistry or chemistry discipline.
Excellent data analysis and spatial data handling / manipulation and GIS skills are a prerequisite.
Numerate with experience of modflow / solute transport modelling.
And at least some of the following experience:
Previous experience in supporting investigation, risk assessment, or environmental assessment work with exposure to fieldwork supervision in an Environmental or Water Consultancy is preferred.
Experience working on operational sites with advanced safety cultures or in remote locations preferred.
Experience of building PowerBI dashboards.
Interested in modelling experience using advanced methods such as coupled heat / density driven flows eg SEAWAT or TOUGH2. Could be obtained within Masters project.
Considering surface and groundwater interactions.
