Job Overview:

Due to Company growth, we are we are actively seeking an experienced GIS Mapper to join our Pole Inspection Program team in Long Island, NY.

Responsibilities & Duties:

GIS Analyst services include but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilize GPS, satellite imagery, and other sources to collect and analyze spatial data.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of geographic information through thorough research and verification.
  • Develop detailed and visually appealing maps using GIS software and tools.
  • Customize maps to meet project requirements and effectively communicate spatial information.
  • Integrate various data sources into GIS databases.
  • Maintain and update GIS databases, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with environmental scientists, urban planners, engineers, and other professionals to incorporate GIS data into project planning and execution.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on GIS data and maps to ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve spatial data-related issues to ensure the reliability and usability of GIS information.
  • Document procedures, methodologies, and data sources for future reference.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing GIS findings and analyses.

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or equivalent.
  • 2+years of data analyst experience.
  • Proficient in Excel, GIS software, and like systems.
  • Ability to collaborate between business professionals, city agencies, as well as internally.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project or Equivalent.

 

The salary range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licenses and certifications; and other related skillsets. The disclosed range is an estimate and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
